LIVING AS A CHRISTIAN AFTER EASTER
After Easter, your life as a Christian is not just about remembering the resurrection — it’s about living in its power every day. The resurrection of Jesus is not a historical event to be celebrated once a year; it’s the foundation of your identity and the source of your hope.
1. Expect Resurrection in Every Area of Life
The resurrection means that life can emerge from death. This hope should shape how you respond to setbacks — whether it’s loss, disappointment, or personal struggles. Expecting resurrection looks like:
- Trusting others again after betrayal.
- Choosing to dream again after a loss.
- Working for justice and beauty in a broken world.
2. Walk in the Power of the Resurrection
The same power that raised Jesus is now at work in you (Romans 6:4). This means:
- Renewing your faith when you feel spiritually drained — your strength comes from Christ’s life, not your own.
- Living as a “new creation” where the old self is gone and the new is here (2 Corinthians 5:17).
- Surrendering your will to God, just as Jesus did, as an act of obedience.
3. Seek Restoration and Fellowship
After Easter, Jesus restored relationships, removed guilt, and reaffirmed identity. This should be your pattern:
- Reconnect with God in prayer and Scripture.
- Rebuild broken relationships with others.
- Deepen fellowship with fellow believers, as Jesus did with His disciples.
4. Be Commissioned for Mission
The resurrection prepared the disciples for their calling. You are called to:
- Share the gospel with others (Matthew 28:19).
- Be a witness empowered by the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8).
- Live out Christ’s love in your community and world.
5. Keep Moving Forward
Easter is not the end of the story — it’s the beginning of the mission. Don’t let the celebration fade into “ordinary time.” Instead, let it fuel:
- Deeper faith.
- Active service.
- Ongoing discipleship.
In short: After Easter, live as a resurrection person — expect life from death, walk in Christ’s power, restore what’s broken, and be ready to share His hope with the world.
