As we step into this new month, our hearts are heavy for those impacted by the ongoing government shutdown. Many of our brothers and sisters—furloughed workers, parents, and caregivers—are already feeling the strain. While we are already preparing to make Thanksgiving special for families, I am even more concerned about what happens before the holiday—those quiet days leading up to it when the pantry grows thin, and the fridge grows bare. We are appealing to everyone to sow a seed of $30 or more to help ensure no family connected to us or our community goes hungry. If $30 is all you can give, know that your sacrifice is sacred—you are blessing someone who desperately needs it right now. But if God has blessed you to do more, we invite you to stand with members of St. Mark every Sunday throughout November, continuing to sow that $30 seed until this shutdown ends and stability returns to our families. We may not be able to stop the shutdown, but we can shut down hunger. Go to our giving page and designate your gift as "Make Eating Possible" or "MEP"
